![]() Before importing your FBX file into Unity, verify the size of your exported file. Using different versions of the software can provide unexpected results. You need to create a development build, run it on the target device, connect a Profiler and make a memory snapshot. Make sure you use the same FBX version to import files into Unity as you used to export them from your 3D modeling application. Unfortunately, there is no easy way to see how much memory an animation consumes inside of Unity. If you use animation compression and rather high Position/Rotation error values, the size might be getting smaller, but your animation might also start to wobble. However, this is a trade-off between size and quality. If you select the imported FBX in Unity and switch in the Inspector to the Animation tab, you find a few settings that affect the size. If that doesn’t reduce the file size enough, try to reduce the physical size (in pixels) of the Texture images. The size of the source FBX asset doesn't matter, as Unity converts the FBX to its own format with different size characteristics during import. See documentation on platform-specific Texture compression for more information.
